A Message About Sportsmanship to Kick Off 2026 Spring Season

Welcome to the 2025/26 NorCal Premier Spring Season!

We’re thrilled to kick off another season where every team starts undefeated, and every player has the chance to grow — on and off the field.

At NorCal, we believe that how we pursue excellence matters more than the result itself. Wins fade, but the lessons we learn, the relationships we build, and the integrity we show last a lifetime.

Players – Respect the Game & It’s Participants

• • Pursue excellence with respect. Your opponent is your partner in growth — without them, there is no game.
  • Embrace challenges. Setbacks are opportunities to learn.
  • Respect referees. They’re human, they’ll make mistakes, and they deserve your respect at all times.

Parents & Families – The Sideline Matters

• • Your behavior is powerful. Players notice what you do more than what you say.
  • Stay positive. No coaching from the sideline. Avoid arguing calls or engaging with opposing fans.
  • Take the Sideline Pledge – commit to keeping games a positive experience for all.

Key Reminders for Everyone

• • Racial abuse has not place in our game – participants found to have used abusive and/ or bigoted language or physical gestures based on race may receive up to a 6-month suspension. This includes racial slurs of any kind, regardless of reported differences in spelling or pronunciation.
  • Referee abuse has no place in our game – violations can result in suspensions, fines, or removal from competition – US Soccer Referee Abuse Prevention Policy
  • Entering the field without permission can lead to sanctions for individuals, teams, and clubs.
  • We all represent NorCal. Whether you’re playing, coaching, or cheering, model the respect, integrity, and joy that define our game.
