WINTER FUTSAL

After hosting two successful editions of the Futsal State Cup in the past two years, NorCal Premier Soccer is expanding its futsal programming this winter season, with the goal of creating more opportunities for youth players to participate in the fast-paced, skill-building version of the beautiful game.

In addition to hosting the third Futsal State Cup at a location to be announced later from February 15-17, NorCal will also arrange three different playdates during the months that teams would normally be off from their outdoor seasons.

Registration for the NorCal Futsal State Cup is now open and can be found here.

“The aim in providing all of these events is to create a modular futsal season for all teams in NorCal to be able to put together a full season themselves without having to commit to a weekly league,” said NorCal Director of Competitions Daniel Chamberlain. “Futsal is one of the best ways for kids to build up their technical skills–we see the expansion of futsal programming as key to the development of youth players in Northern California.”

The first of these events, the Winter Futsal Festival between United Futsal and NorCal, will take place December 28-29 at the Santa Clara Convention Center (Register HERE).

Following that, an event will be hosted in Reno  January 4-5, marking the first time NorCal puts on an official event in Nevada (Register HERE).

Finally, January 18-19 will see a playdate played in Martinez (Register HERE).

“Our goal has always been to provide the best opportunities for our member clubs and players to grow both on and off the field,” Chamberlain said. “Futsal’s ability to help with that has been well documented and we will look to continue growing our programming within the sport in the coming years.
