After a long break winter break, league action is now back in Northern California as the NPL resumes with games all across the state this Spring for girls from the U14-U19 age groups. Culminating with the NPL Spring College Showcase at Davis Legacy Soccer Complex on May 18-19, the NPL features some of the highest level of play in the country. The top finisher from each Champions League division will earn a berth in the NPL National Finals, due to be hosted in Denver, Co. from July 11-15.

With most of the teams in this division not yet at the halfway point of matches play, it could be hard to predict who will come out with the overall title at this point. But Vision Academy (18 points) currently top the table and are the Champions League’s only unbeaten team remaining. Just below Vision are third-place Elk Grove Soccer (16 points), who have played one fewer game but actually lead the league in points per game currently. MVLA (17 points) are currently in second place thanks to the league’s best attack, while East Bay United (14 points) shouldn’t count themselves at yet and are averaging two points per game. Also with a shout at the title are Mustang (13 points), who have played just six league games and could re-enter the title discussion with a few positive results.
