Despite scoring 43 goals in 11 Champions League games, West Coast Soccer were held scoreless by State Premier Championship side San Juan SC, who closed out a 1-0 victory in a hard-fought game. Samantha Torres scored in the 33rd minute for the Sacramento-area side for the only goal in the game, a goal that would secure San Juan’s place in the semifinals.

Marin FC Blue
This matchup between two Champions League teams close to each other in the standings stayed close until all but the very end, with Marin FC eventually taking a 2-0 victory over California Cougars. Sofia Nogueiro scored the eventual winner for Marin in the 71st minute before Mia Nettz proved the quality of her surname by netting the insurance goal in the 80th.

After winning their Round of 16 matchup on kicks from the mark, SF Elite pulled off the feat again, defeating Union Sacramento on penalties after a scoreless draw for the second straight round. Both sides had a number of chances to win the game in regulation and overtime but failed to do so, sending the game to kicks from the mark, where Elite proved to be the better squad at converting.

Ajax United Green
Despite losing by six goals to California Odyssey just two weeks ago, Ajax United came out seemingly a completely different squad, scored first, ended up prevailing in this quarterfinal to move on to the semifinals. And it was Ajax who struck first as a penalty that hit the post rebounded to find the feet of Jenna Dean who made no mistake from close range. Odyssey leveled the game just three minutes later through Ava Medrano, but no more goals would be scored from there and Ajax were able to stand tall through the gauntlet that is penalties.
