Two Elected to Fill Board of Director Vacancies
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Feb. 23, 2016) — With two spots to be filled on the NorCal Premier Soccer Board of Directors, Troy Dayak and Rick Fullerton have been elected to serve on the seven-member board.
The pair will each serve a two-year term, rounding out a board that includes executive members in NorCal President Benjamin Ziemer, Vice President Shawn Blakeman, Vice President Paolo Bonomo, as well as Tom Ginocchio and Paul O’Brien, the latter two of whom enter their second year on the Board.
While Fullerton is returning to the Board of Directors for his second term, Dayak joins for the first time.
The West Coast Soccer Club President and and Director of Coaching is well-known in Northern California after spending most of his 17-year professional career plying his trade in the area, where he was best known as a hard-nosed defender for the San Jose Earthquakes, making 139 MLS appearances and playing nine times for the United States Men’s National Team.
“I am honored to be elected to the NorCal Board of Directors,” Dayak said. “I’m looking forward to serving and being a part of helping shape the future for the players, coaches, administrators, parents, and all of its members.”
The returning Fullerton, a Yale alum, currently serves as Mill Valley Soccer Club’s Director of Coaching and Player Development and holds a National ‘A’ license. He began his coaching career right here in Northern California as an assistant coach on the UC Berkeley Men’s soccer team.
“I am honored to have been entrusted with the opportunity to serve a second term on NorCal’s Board of Directors,” Fullerton said. “With the landscape of youth soccer constantly changing, I hope I can assist NorCal’s leadership team in keeping the best interests of the many thousands of young players we all serve at the forefront of all that we aim for and all that we do.”
