Recap of U15-U19 State Cup Finals

The 2024/25 NorCal Premier Soccer season is officially in the books as the year’s final event took place this past weekend as the U15-U19 NorCal State Cup finals took place at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento.

Over the course of two days, 40 different finals were played as teams capped their seasons with one last contest.

“We would like to thank everyone who participated in the competition, it was another great year of close and exciting games, several of which came down to the wire this past weekend,” said NorCal State Cup COMMISSIONER Brian Voltattorni. “Congratulations to all of the champions and finalists for putting together great runs. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.”

The NorCal State Cup began all the way back in the fall with each team playing three group stage matches that would eventually decide their seeding in the knockout rounds.

From there most teams were placed in the round of 32, meaning that to take home a title, each club had to win five straight rounds of play.

Those who made it to the quarterfinal stage were treated to neutral site games as NorCal hosted the vast majority of that round’s matchups, along with the semifinals, at Davis Legacy Soccer Complex and Turlock Regional Sports Complex.

The teams who qualified for Finals Weekend, then played their title match in front of packed crowds at Cosumnes River College.

In the State Division, NorCal’s highest level of play, six different clubs took home titles, earning those teams the right to call themselves true NorCal State Cup Champions.

Of those six clubs, Clovis Crossfire (U15 and U19 Boys) and Mustang SC (U17 and U19 Girls) each won two divisions, while Albion SC Merced (U17 Boys), San Juan South (U16 Girls), Solano Surf (U15 Girls), and Turlock Academica Jrs (U16 Boys) each claimed one championship.
