NorCal Premier Soccer’s National Premier League is back this weekend and while some teams have already started their slate of matches, most will kick off their spring seasons either Saturday or Sunday in what should be an exciting start to the state’s most competitive league competition.

Here are your NPL games of the week:

U16 Boys Champions League

Association Football Club 3 – MCS ECFC 0

Goalscorers:

AFC: Bruneau, Votel, Verner

Continuing their strong start to the U16 Boys Champions League, Association Football Club moved to the top of the table with a 3-0 victory over visiting MCS ECFC Saturday. The victory was the second straight shutout for AFC, who lead in the standings with a perfect six points from two games. The first goal came just 16 minutes into the match with Alexander Bruneau finishing off a solid team effort before Charlie Votel doubled the AFC lead five minutes into the second half. Votel then iced the game seven minutes later, setting up a Theo Verner goal to make it 3-0.

U14 Girls ECNL Regional League

De Anza Force 0 – Stanislaus United 4

Stanislaus United proved to be one of the best teams in any division during the fall NPL season — the Central Valley club didn’t lose a single game en route to a NPL 1 East title that saw them finish with a plus-27 goal differential. And United haven’t slowed down this spring, winning each of their first three league games while scoring 16 goals. Meanwhile, hosts De Anza have played just one game so far, a scoreless draw.

U15 Boys Champions League

Clovis Crossfire 1 – San Jose Surf 1

There has been just one match played so far in the U15 Boys Champions League, but it involved the Clovis Crossfire, who put up seven goals while allowing none last weekend. This shouldn’t come as a surprise — Clovis dropped points just once during an NPL East title-winning campaign in the fall. San Jose Surf also only dropped points once in the fall, but in a loss to future NPL South champions MCS ECFC.

U15 Girls ECNL Regional League

3/13: Allstars United – Palo Alto SC 11:00 a.m. @ Saratoga High School – Stadium Field

There have been just four matches played so far in the U15 Girls ECNL Regional League, but Palo Alto SC have played in half of them, both of which saw the club earn the full three points. It’s early, but Palo Alto already have a four point lead in the table and will look to further that advantage Sunday when they head to face Allstars United, who haven’t played yet but will provide stiff competition for the early table toppers.
