NPL/ECNL-RL Matchday #5

It’s roughly one full month into the season and the action is heating up in the NPL and ECNL-RL as teams from all across the state again kick off matches this weekend. Several teams are running away from the pack in their divisions, while others continue to slog through a grueling title race with many sides still in contention.

Here are your NPL/ECNL-RL games of the week:

U13 Boys NPL East Bay

Albany Berkeley Soccer Club
In the first ever U13 boys Game of the Week, Albany Berkeley Soccer Club continued their perfect start to the season, downing Albion SC Silicon Valley via a 4-0 scoreline. Ivan Huerta was the star for the visitors on the day, scoring in both halves to solidify the result after Grayson Hamity opened the scoring in the 15th minute. Gerado Ramos Henriquez capped the scoring off for Albany Berekely, hitting the back of the net in the 60th minute.

U19 Boys ECNL-RL

Elk Grove Soccer
Elk Grove Soccer continued their strong start to the U19 Boys ECNL-RL season as they traveled to the Bay Area to down De Anza Force via a 3-2 scoreline. Despite home strikes from Hernan Alvarez Funes and Kevin Orocio, De Anza couldn't prevent Elk Grove from leaving with all three points as Artem Vovk scored a hat trick.
U16 Girls ECNL-RL

De Anza Force
In what looks to be a potential title-deciding matchup, Stanislaus United play host to De Anza Force this weekend in the a titanic U16 Girls ECNL-RL matchup. Both sides are unbeaten on the year, with the hosts earning six points from two games, while their opponents come into the match with seven from three.

U17 Girls ECNL-RL

Folsom Lake Surf
Folsom Lake Surf boosted their U17 Girls ECNL-RL title chances this weekend as the side traveled to the Bay Area and knocked off MVLA via a 3-2 scoreline. Savanah Jurgens was the hero on the day, scoring a brace for the visitors, while Kiana Arbis also hit the back of the net in the close victory.
