NPL/ECNL-RL Matchday #3

The first month of spring league play is nearly complete in NorCal Premier Soccer’s various high-level competitions being held all across the state. By the end of this weekend, we should have a good idea of which teams are title contenders and which will fight until the last day to stave off relegation.

Here are your NPL/ECNL-RL games of the week:

U19 Boys ECNL-RL
3/23Elk Grove Soccer
Ceres Rush
So far in the U19 Boys ECNL-RL, Elk Grove Soccer have been the class of the league, dropping just one result overall to post a nine-point lead. Saturday, they'll face Ceres Rush, who come into the match in fourth place and lost to Elk Grove by a narrow 1-0 margin all the way back in August.
U14 Girls ECNL-RL
3/23Stanislaus United
WSC Crush
Just four matches have been played so far in the U14 Girls ECNL-RL and three of them have involved WSC Crush. The Bay Area side have prevailed in all three of those matches, leading to WSC opening up a six point lead at the top of the table. They'll look to extend that lead this weekend, facing a Stanislaus United team that has yet to play a match.
U14 Boys ECNL-RL
3/24De Anza Force
Almaden FC
Almaden FC kept up their perfect season thanks to a 3-1 victory over De Anza Force in the U14 Boys ECNL-RL. After going behind early due to an own goal, Almaden rallied back through strikes from Adam Elwany, Juan Lopez Salmon, and David Ahlgren.

U13 Girls ECNL-RL
3/24SF Aftershocks
Palo Alto SC
After going 10-0-0 in the fall NPL season, SF Aftershocks opened up their ECNL-RL campaign with a draw against Palo Alto SC. In the end, neither team could find a goal and were forced to split the points to start the season.
