NPL/ECNL-RL Matchday #1

Finally, after a long winter break, NorCal’s exciting league play is back in action as teams from all across the state will meet this weekend on NPL/ECNL-RL Matchday #1. For most in the ECNL-RL, this marks the resumption of a year-long season, while those in the NPL will start with a fresh fixture list.

Here are your NPL/ECNL-RL games of the week:

U15 Girls NPL 1

Alameda Soccer Club
While the battle between two Bay Area sides in the U15 Girls NPL 1 went to halftime scoreless, hosts Los Gatos United scored twice after the break to earn all three points with a 2-0 win over Alameda Soccer Club. Isabella Cain hit the back of the net first, following up on a rebounded shot before Ciara Kroum sealed the result by finishing off a breakaway in the 76th minute.

U12 Girls Pre-NPL 1 East

Revolution FC
Just a solitary goal was the difference between Placer United and Revolution FC when the pair of sides kicked off the U12 Girls Pre-NPL 1 East this past weekend. Gabby Moore took a feed from Kallie Payne to score the opener just 11 minutes into the match and Placer were able to keep their opponents from scoring to earn all three points.
U13 Boys ECNL-RL

South Valley United
Both Walnut Creek Surf and South Valley United have jumped up to the ECNL-RL after strong seasons in their regional NPL divisions this past fall. South Valley United dominated the NPL Central Valley, dropping points just once, while Walnut Creek Surf finished just four points out of first place in the NPL East Bay.
