Games of the Week #9: National 1 League

With just over a month of league action left to play, several different divisions are going down to the wire in NorCal Premier Soccer’s new National 1 League. This weekend, teams from all across the state will be fighting to get themselves three points closer to the title in what should be an exciting stretch run of the year.

Here are your games of the week:

U15 Boys N1 Valley
10/24Kerman Revolution Soccer
12:00 p.m. @ Kerman Middle School
Ceres Rush
With each side only having two league games left to play, this matchup between Kerman Revolution Soccer and Ceres Rush is as close to a title game as it will get in the U15 Boys N1 Valley. With a perfect 6-0-0 record, Kerman can clinch the league with a win as no other team will be able to reach 21 points on the season. However, if Ceres score an away victory, they will be in the driver's seat the rest of the way as they'll go level on 18 points with Kerman and own the first tiebreaker. Should the two draw, everything will come down to the last day of action.
U17 Girls N1 North
10/24Santa Rosa Empire
1:30 p.m. @ Galvin Community Park
Mt. Diablo Mustang
In a tight division in which each team has dropped points at least twice, this weekend will see a matchup between third and fourth place with both looking to get back in the title race by earning all three points. Visitors Mt. Diablo Mustang come in higher up in the standings with eight points from five games, just five points away from first place San Leandro YSL, who have played one more game. Meanwhile, Santa Rosa United are one point back of Mustang but have a game in hand and two games in hand on San Leandro. Whichever team comes out on top this weekend could challenge for the title.
U13 Boys N1 North
10/24San Francisco Glens
1:45 p.m. @ Beach Chalet
Mendocino County Sports Academy
While Santa Rosa Empire are currently comfortably in first place in the U13 Boys N1 North with a perfect 5-0-0 record, there are still two matchdays left to play and still two teams who can surpass them in the standings and take home the title. One of those teams is Mendocino County Sports Academy, who currently sit five points behind Santa Rosa, with their only loss of the season coming to their North Bay rivals. Standing in their way this weekend will be a strong San Francisco Glens sides that can move to within one point of Mendocino with a victory.
U18/U19 Girls N1 East
10/24Albion SC Merced
3:30 p.m. @ El Capitan High School
Turlock Academica Jrs
This matchup comes at an important time for Turlock Academica Jrs, who are just three points off of the lead in the U18/U19 Girls N1 East heading into the weekend. They'll face Albion SC Merced, who they battled to a tough 2-2 draw earlier in the season in just one of two matches that Turlock dropped points. Should Turlock win this game, they'll move to level on points with Merced United with the same amount of games played, setting up what will essentially be a title matchup between them and Merced United next weekend.
