In a competition that began all the way back on the final weekend of August, it’s finally time for the culmination of the group stage in the U11/U12 NorCal Premier Soccer State Cup. In the State and Premier divisions, teams are fighting for seeding in the knockout rounds, which begin in mid-November. This weekend could decide whether or not teams will be fighting to capture an elusive State Cup title.
Here are your games of the week:
| U12 Boys State/Premier Cup |
| 10/4 | Castro Valley Soccer Club | | 8:00 a.m. @ Alden E. Oliver Sports Park | | Revolution FC |
| Both Castro Valley Soccer Club and Revolution FC faced tough group stage matches against Benicia Soccer Club in which the pair defeated their Bay Area rivals by just a single goal. However, things went easier in their other group games and as a result both teams sit on six points with just one fixture remaining. Castro Valley currently have the edge on goal differential meaning that a draw will secure them first place in the group, while Revolution FC will need a win to ensure that they finish atop the standings. |
| U12 Girls State/Premier Cup |
| 10/4 | MVLA | | 1:30 p.m. @ Covington Elementary School | | Girls Unite |
| Group J in the U12 Girls State/Premier Cup is wide open as just three points separate first place from fourth--all four teams are still alive to qualify for the State Division depending on this Saturday's results. Perhaps the best matchup of the two, though, comes between MVLA and Girls Unite, who currently sit in first and second place, respectively. With four points from two games, MVLA could finish in first place with a draw, while a win could give Girls Unite the top spot. Ultimately it may come down to goal differential as OV Toros and Allstars SC are both still in the running as well. |
| U11 Girls State/Premier Cup |
| 10/4 | CV Futbol Academy | | 2:00 p.m. @ Turlock Regional Sports Complex | | Clovis Crossfire |
| Both CV Futbol Academy and Clovis Crossfire have been absolute juggernauts in State Cup this year, with each scoring a multitude of goals in the group stage while failing to concede a solitary strike. With both sitting on six points heading into the final match, CV have the advantage in goal differential meaning that they can secure the top spot with a draw, while Clovis will need to win outright. |
| U11 Boys State/Premier Cup |
| 10/4 | Burlingame SC | | 6:30 p.m. @ Murray/Burlingame Sports Complex | | San Francisco Glens |
| In another matchup between two top-ranked teams, Burlingame SC and San Francisco Glens head into their final group stage match of the U11 Boys State/Premier Cup with first place on the line. Both squads enter the match tied on six points at the top of the table, but Burlingame have the edge in goal differential. The hosts, who have yet to concede, will need just a draw to secure first place, while the Glens will have to be the first team to score on Burlingame to have a chance at winning the group. |
