NorCal State Cup UPDATED Brackets
Overall, it was a good weekend at every age group for a few of Northern California’s strongest clubs.
On the girls side of the action, Davis Legacy proved to be the standard bearer, winning all five of their round of 16 match-ups, with U-14, U-15, U-16, and two U-19 sides advancing. Just behind the Legacy were Marin FC, who won three of their five matches (U-15, U-16, and U-19), as well as Santa Clara Sporting, who had five teams involved, and advanced in the U-19 and U-16 divisions. The game of the week for the girls was Lamorinda vs. Central California Soccer Alliance, where Lamorinda held CCSA off in penalties after scoring a dramatic equalizer in the final minute of overtime to bring the game’s scoreline to 2-2.
The winners of each game advance to the following round of the State Cup: the quarterfinals, which will take place May 6 and 7. From then out, remaining teams will play each weekend, culminating in the championship games, which will be held at Cosumnes River College on May 20 and 21.
