All-Star Rosters Announced – NorCal College Showcase Girls Weekend

NorCal Premier Soccer is excited to announce the Girls All-Star Team Rosters for this weekend’s NorCal College Showcases All-Star Game.

Overall, 50 different players from 21 clubs will compete in the Girls All-Star Game, which is split between squads made up of high school juniors and seniors players from ECNL-RL and NPL. Teams are divided geographically to form the two opponents Bay and Valley All-Stars. For the first time, NorCal will be announcing a Player of the Match live after the game.

NorCal is also proud to announce our coaching lineup for the All-Star Game–the Bay Team will be led by NWSL Bay FC Founding Investor/Owner and Executive Director of California Storm, Jamie Levoy; and, the Valley Team will be led by Girls PDP Staff Coach Casey McCormick.

“NorCal’s All-Star Game provides a valuable opportunity for top players in Northern California to showcase their skills in front of many college coaches attending our Showcase,” said NPL Commissioner Kelcey Chaidez. “It’s an exciting experience for the players to represent their region under the lights in what promises to be an outstanding matchup.”

COACHES Q&A
Ahead of the game, we got our coaches thoughts going into the match and advice to players–check out their insight:

Bay Team Coach – Jamie Levoy
NWSL Bay FC Founding Investor/Owner
Executive Director California Storm

  1. What excites you most about coaching this game and what are you hoping to contribute to the players’ experience?
    • Jamie: I am so excited to be coaching in the All-Star game because NorCal does an incredible job of creating a competitive environment that shapes these athletes into becoming some of the best in the country. I usually work with players that are 18+ so it will be a lot of fun to see the next group of up and coming players. I hope that I can show the players that playing college and professional soccer is attainable, we have a path right here. I also want them to understand the importance of not just the grind of the game, but to recognize the opportunities to be creative with their runs and on the ball.
  2. What is your advice for the players taking part in this All-Star game as they look to continue their development and potentially pursue college or next level soccer opportunities?
    • Jamie: My advice to players that want to continue in their development and pursue next level soccer opportunities would be to focus on the details of your game. Also surrounding yourself with like minded people is very important. You want to have someone to hold you accountable, push you to challenge yourself, someone to pick you up and encourage you when you are struggling. Remember that all players have high and low points in their games, it’s okay. Most importantly, recognize that you have a gift and are so fortunate to be playing. Enjoy the moments.
  3. Is there anything you’d like to add?
    • Jamie: I hope to see these players on the California Storm in the near future!

Valley Team Coach – Casey McCormick
Former Captain University of Washington Women’s Soccer
Girls PDP Staff Coach

  1. What excites you most about coaching this game and what are you hoping to contribute to the players’ experience?
    • Casey: I love coaching big games. Typically, many of the kids are very nervous before all-star games and some have never played in front of scouts before. I love helping the players learn how to overcome their nerves and focus on the simple things they can do individually and as a team to have a great performance. Most of these kids have not played together before so I need to help them quickly get on the same page with team tactical intentions.
  2. What is your advice for the players taking part in this All-Star game as they look to continue their development and potentially pursue college or next level soccer opportunities?
    • Casey: This game is a celebration of your hard work and performance all season. Let go of any fears and anxieties you may have and play with confidence and joy. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes! The scouts love to see what you do after you make mistakes, so don’t worry if you make one; just keep playing hard and focus on the next action during the game. After the game, take a moment to reflect on this past season and identify one of your greatest strengths as a player, and one area that you want to improve (perhaps something that you admire about another player at the all-star game). Then make some SMART goals for winter to push yourself to improve in both areas before the spring season. The players that put in the extra work are almost always the ones that rise to the top. Keep pushing yourself!
  3. Is there anything you’d like to add?
    • Casey: Watch more soccer live and on TV. Go Bay FC!
