U9-U14 Super Rec Cup Kicks Off Saturday
One of NorCal Premier Soccer’s most anticipated events, the U9-U14 Super Rec Cup, will take place this Saturday and Sunday at Davis Legacy Soccer Complex.
Overall, 148 teams will participate, coming from 45 different clubs, and competing in 22 different divisions in what’s an end of season celebration of soccer for all recreational level teams from Northern California.
“In this space, NorCal has invested a lot of time, effort, and money to develop grassroots programming and provide these types of events for its membership,” said NorCal Grassroots Development Manager Andrew Taylor. “It’s my favorite event to attend because of the excitement and atmosphere. There’s just an incredible buzz around it.”
This is the third time that NorCal will be hosting the Super Rec Cup for these ages after successfully holding the third annual U16-U19 Super Rec Cup last month.
The event is open to both NorCal clubs that have just completed their recreational league season and any other rec team from Northern California.
The competition, which has grown by 20 percent since last season, will feature divisions with two brackets. The winner of each bracket will qualify for the final, to be played Sunday.
“The Super Rec Cup provides an end of season event with competitive games for all,” Taylor said. “It’s the crowning moment of the year for many of these teams, something to truly be excited about.”
