U19 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL C
|
5/7 | Davis Legacy 98 | | 3-2 | | Placer United 99 |
While Davis Legacy 98 had been unstoppable in the attack in a 7-0-0 NPL Champions League season, they had also been vulnerable at the back. NPL 1 side Placer United certainly exploited this, as Nicolette Lewis finished off a cross early in the second half to take a 1-0 lead. Jada Macairan then curled the ball into the upper 90 to tie the game, before a hustle play from Sydney Schultz resulted in a second lead for Placer. Controversy ensued as Placer protested that the Legacy’s second goal was offside, while claiming that one of their shots had crossed the line as well. Winger Julia Curtis fired in the eventual winner late, curling home a feed from Mackenzie Magaoay. |
