U19 Girls State Quarterfinals Preview

U19 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL A
5/7Blues FC
10:30 AM
Marin FC
While Blues FC figure to come into this State Cup quarterfinal as the underdog, the Blues have been in excellent form in league play, scoring 20 goals against six allowed to currently sit in second place in the Women’s U19 NPL 1 with a 4-1-0 record. Meanwhile, Marin FC were up and down during league play, finishing with a 3-4-0 record in NPL Champions League play, but allowing 32 goals in the process.
U19 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL B
5/7West Coast SC
10:30 AM
SC Sporting 99
Of the three teams that finished tied with a 3-4-0 record in the U19 Women’s NPL Champions League, West Coast Wild were perhaps the most unlucky of the bunch, finishing with a plus-10 goal differential. Santa Clara Sporting also ended with a 3-4-0 record, but featured a minus-eight differential. The two teams met earlier in the year, an April 25 match that saw Sporting defeat West Coast by a 1-0 scoreline, meaning West Coast will be ready for revenge coming this weekend.
U19 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL C
5/7Davis Legacy 98
12:45 PM
Placer United 99
When it rained, it poured for the Davis Legacy 98. And like this winter season in Northern California, it rained a ton, as the Legacy scored a whopping 35 goals to top the U19 NPL Champions League division with a 7-0-0 record. Meanwhile, a Placer United team of purely U18 girls have had an excellent season in the NPL 1, currently standing in second with a 4-2-0 record, with 15 goals scored and just three allowed. If any team can stop the Legacy’s potent attack, it’s a Placer team that’s sure to be solid at the back.
U19 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL D
5/7Davis Legacy 99
12:45 PM
CCSA Black
After electing not to play in the spring, Central California Soccer Alliance 98 may be a bit rusty, but they’re certainly no pushovers, as they’ve been one of the top squads in the state for the past few years. In their way are a talented Davis Legacy side that struggled in the NPL Champions League, but were a year younger than most of their competition, making their qualification for the Champions League impressive in and of itself.
