U16 Girls 2019 NorCal State Cup Quarterfinals Recap

U16 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL A
4/28San Juan South
2-1
SC Sporting Green
While San Juan South defeated Santa Clara Sporting in league play by a margin of eight goals just a few weeks ago, Sporting put up more of a fight in this one, holding the early scoreline to just two goals through San Juan strikes from Ashley Thorpe and Celeste Garibay. And Sporting even pulled one back in the 55th minute with a goal from Samantha Buer, but ultimately the result would be the same, even if the scoreline wasn’t.
U16 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL B
4/28Ajax United Green
0-1
West Coast SC
Underdogs West Coast Soccer took this State Cup tie via a 1-0 scoreline thanks to one moment of brilliance against Modesto Ajax. Throwing her body in the way of harm, Madison Del Prado bodied off a defender in the 12th minute before turning towards goal and hitting her shot upper 90 for the only goal of the game, one that sent West Coast through to the semifinals.
U16 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL C
4/28North Coast Petaluma
1-7
PSV Union
It took just nine minutes for favorites PSV Union to break the deadlock, scoring on a slaloming run from Bridgette Marin-Valencia. Marin-Valencia would score two more goals on the day, before Stella El-Fishawy and Sarah Masetti each bagged braces to cancel out a North Coast FC goal from Charlotte Crysdale.
U16 GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINAL D
4/28CCSA NPL
2-1
OV Toros Black
Just one minute into this eventual 2-1 win for Central California Soccer Alliance, Andria Hernandez put one past the Orchard Valley Toros goalkeeper to take the lead. But four minutes later, OVT responded with an equalizer from Ailonnie Lorennzana. However, this tie was decided in the first half as Emma Martella scored the winner for CCSA in just the 23rd minute of the match.
