U15-U19 State Cup Finals Recap

This past weekend marked the end of NorCal’s 2025/26 competitive season as 41 different teams lifted titles in the U15-U19 State Cup at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento.

The conclusion of the event at Finals Weekend marked the last games of play for most teams throughout the state, many who had been participating in competitions since all the way back in last August.

“Finals Weekend was another resounding success as teams from all across the state got to make memories that they’ll cherish forever through competing for a NorCal State Cup title,” said NorCal State Cup Coordinator Brian Voltattorni. “Most of the games were extremely close, showing how our model of placing each team in their divisions based off of past performances has led to competitive matchups that foster development.”

“We would like to thank every player, coach, team manager, and parent who helped make this past season a successful one while always putting their players first to help create a positive environment,” Voltattorni added. “While these teams have spent the last 10 months together this season, many players have been teammates for years, creating friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. We also want to congratulate those graduating U19 seniors and wish them the best as they move on to college.”

In the State Division, NorCal’s highest level of play, seven different clubs took home titles, with Reno APEX leading the way thanks to victories in the U15 Boys and U19 Boys divisions.

The other teams who lifted trophies were Clovis Crossfire (U16 Boys), Elk Grove United (U17 Boys), IR Academy (U19 Girls), Mustang SC (U16 Girls), San Juan South (U17 Girls), and SF Aftershocks (U15 Girls).

By virtue of winning the top division of NorCal State Cup, each of these teams will now participate in the US Club Soccer National Cup, due to take place next month in Denver.

“Huge congratulations to these eight teams who battled all season to end up on top of the highest division of State Cup–it’s a great achievement for each of these clubs, who will now have their names etched in history,” Voltattorni said. “We know that they’ll represent NorCal Premier Soccer very well this summer in Colorado.”

The NorCal State Cup began back in August with a three game group stage where teams were then seeded into knockout round brackets based on how they finished.

From there, each team had to win at least three elimination rounds to reach Finals Weekend, with many requiring at least four victories.

In the end, just 82 teams were left to compete this past weekend, with the aforementioned 41 claiming titles.
