While FC Elk Grove are looking for a double after winning the NPL Champions League, Marin FC appear to be a side built for cup competition -- the simply don’t lose games. In the Champions League season, Marin FC lost just once: to the Placer United side Elk Grove knocked off 3-1 in the semifinals. While Marin finished in fifth-place in the Champions League, they only lost once, and drew 1-1 with Elk Grove six weeks ago. Both sides have been incredibly stingy in the back, combining to allow just 14 goals in their 14 Champions League games, and four goals in seven State Cup games. |
