In the most lopsided final in the State Cup bracket, an early red card changed the flow of play, with Turlock Tornados going down a man in the 12th minute against Champions League winners Lamorinda United.

To Turlock’s credit, though, it took Lamorinda a few minutes to finally put one past the Tornados, with the influential Adrian Guzman finding Nikolas Geannacopolus, who brought the ball down, turned, and smacked it into the back of the net in just the 26th minute.

After a surprising starring role as an injury-replacement goalkeeper in the semifinals, Luke Ahearn continued his success in the State Cup knockout rounds, scoring on a rebounded effort in the 33rd minute to give Lamorinda a two-goal lead that lasted until the break.

Turlock did their bet to make it a game, pulling a goal back through Luis Robles in a scramble in front of the goal just seven minutes later to make the score 2-1, but then Guzman and Co. took over the match.

Guzman scored a second-half hat trick, while Geannacopolus completed his own, along with a late strike from Alexander Cuellar that cancelled out a Cesar Burgos penalty to end the scoring at 8-2 and give Lamorinda a double.
