For much of this Bay Area battle between Marin FC and SF Elite Academy, Marin FC appeared to have the better of the play.

And the North Bay club were rewarded for their persistence 32 minutes into the match after Mia Nettz netted a feed from Imogen Jenkyn after making an overlapping run.

In the 65th minute, it seemed to be going even better for Marin, who scored, only to see their goal disallowed before Elite equalized the scoreline through Emma Chongo on the squads first shot of the half just three minutes before the final whistle.

After the game couldn’t be decided in regular time or overtime, it went to kicks from the mark and Marin FC coolly and calmly bested SF Elite to win the title.
