In an age group in which there were plenty of upsets, the U14 boys final will see two non-NPL sides clash in a result that could really go either way. It’s hard to pick a favorite in this tie given the form of both ECFC United and Manteca SC. In the latter’s dream run to the final, Manteca have given up just three goals in four knockout round games, while scoring an impressive 11. Manteca also have double duty to worry about on the weekend, with a State Premier Championship game Sunday, where a win will give them that division’s championship. A 2-0 win over a quality MVLA side saw them advance to the final. Meanwhile, ECFC United don’t participate in any NorCal leagues, making them somewhat of an unknown to observers. Still, their cup form has been equally as impressive as Manteca’s, with 16 goals scored and just three allowed. |
