South Valley United Soccer Club Joins ECNL Regional League Boys – NorCal
SACRAMENTO, CA (April 23, 2025) – NorCal Premier Soccer is proud to announce the addition of South Valley United Soccer Club into the ECNL Regional League Boys – NorCal Division, effective beginning in the 2025/26 season.
South Valley United was selected to join on the boys side based on their performance in the NorCal ECNL RL and NPL divisions. For the past 3 years, South Valley has been one of the top-performing boys clubs in ECNL RL and NPL, with 2 teams in the current ECNL RL, 2 teams in NPL 1, and 2 teams in NPL 2.
“South Valley United has been a top-performing club in the NorCal NPL and ECNL RL over the past 3 years, and their admission into the ECNL RL is further proof of our pathway for serious clubs to advance themselves,” said NorCal Director of Competitions Daniel Chamberlain. “South Valley has demonstrated top-tier talent in their region, and we’re confident they’ll elevate the league’s level of competition.”
“We are incredibly proud and excited that South Valley United has been selected as an ECNL Regional League – NorCal club on the boys’ side. We are thrilled to see their hard work and dedication recognized at such a prestigious level,” said South Valley United President Jeremy Schultz. “This marks the beginning of an exciting new journey for South Valley United that opens new doors for college exposure, elite competition, and national recognition. We look forward to this next chapter of growth for our players, families, staff, and the entire SVU community.”
South Valley United will join the 27 other clubs that NorCal Premier Soccer previously selected to become founding members of a recently expanded and realigned ECNL Regional League.
The clubs selected to be members of the updated ECNL RL – NorCal division are top-performing boys and girls programs within NorCal Premier Soccer. Clubs were evaluated based on the quality of the teams and their performance in NorCal competitions over the past three years, a review of their technical standards, and their adherence to NorCal administrative standards.
“The addition of South Valley United into ECNL RL – NorCal shows how strong, robust, and impactful this league is for players, teams, and clubs,” said ECNL RL Commissioner Chris Leahey. “South Valley United will add significant quality to the league, will compete for championships, and their players will be challenged and showcased in the nation’s top competition pathway.”
