Seven NorCal Sides Headed to US Club Soccer’s National Cup
One week after hosting the the NPL National Finals, US Club Soccer will again welcome several NorCal Premier Soccer sides to Westfield, Ind. for the 16th edition of the National Cup.
Qualifying either by winning NorCal’s State Cup or through a US Club Soccer regional qualifier, seven different NorCal sides head to the competition, which kicks off Friday and runs through Monday.
Of the seven teams, two qualified for the Super Group (the top division) by winning State Cup: the U-14 boys side from Napa Soccer Academy and the U-19 boys Milan FC Forza.
As one of the most impressive attacking sides in any age group this past year, Napa Soccer Academy dominated the knockout rounds of the State Cup and scored an emphatic 5-1 victory in the final over Atletico Santa Rosa.
Milan FC Forza, the only non NPL club to capture a State title, also won the Cup in a decisive manner, knocking off Folsom Force 3-0 in the final.
Also qualifying for the Super Group from NorCal are the U-14 boys EBU Bay Oaks Gold squad and the U-14 girls ESA San Juan South team, who each garnered their spot via a US Club Regional qualifier.
Joining those four in Indiana are the U-14 boys Ceres Earthquake White Wolves, U-13 Girls West Coast SC Wicked, and the U-19 girls Union Sacramento FC, who will all participate in the Premier Group (second division) of the competition.
