NPL/ECNL-RL Matchday #2

While a few teams began their spring league campaigns last weekend, the vast majority of NorCal sides are finally back in action this Saturday and Sunday. In the NPL teams are starting fresh in their new leagues, while the ECNL-RL resumes play with many title races looking like they’ll go down to the wire.

Here are your NPL/ECNL-RL games of the week:

U19 Girls ECNL-RL
3/16Pajaro Valley United
*Match Postponed
San Juan SC
After fall campaigns that saw Pajaro Valley United and San Juan SC finish near the middle of the table, the need for points in their matchup this weekend is great. Both are still in the title race thanks to dropped results above them, but will need to claim a victory this weekend to really have a shot.
U17 Boys ECNL-RL
3/16TSP FC
1-2
Los Gatos United
In a wild division in which just four points separate first from sixth, the U17 Boys ECNL-RL is waiting there for someone to claim. Two of the strongest candidates to do so are TSP FC and Los Gatos United, who face each other this weekend and sit just two points apart. Back in October, Los Gatos defeated TSP 4-3 in an entertaining affair.
U15 Boys ECNL-RL
3/16Valley Surf
1-2
AC Marin
While South Valley Chivas are currently sitting atop the U15 Boys ECNL-RL table with 21 points from eight games, they've played one more match than both AC Marin (13 points) and Valley Surf (13). Those two sides meet each other this weekend to try to make up some ground on the league leaders. Back in September, Marin defeated Surf via a 2-1 scoreline.
U19 Girls ECNL-RL
3/17Walnut Creek Surf
3-0
West Coast Soccer
After West Coast Soccer opened their ECNL-RL campaign with a close victory against Walnut Creek Surf, the Tracy-based club rose to the top of the table, one they currently lead by a single point. Right on their heels, however, are Walnut Creek Surf, who could pull into within a point of West Coast with a victory this weekend.
