NorCal State Cup Semifinals Preview: U14 Girls

U14 GIRLS STATE SEMIFINAL A
5/12Marin FC Blue
0-0
(5-4)
Ajax United Green
For 80 minutes of regular time and a further 10 of overtime, it appeared as if Ajax United were on the verge of perhaps the upset of the weekend. While Ajax fully deserved their place in the semifinals, Marin FC was near the top of the NPL Champions League coming into this match, while Ajax were a middling side in the State Premier Championship. Still United played their hearts out, even saving a penalty in overtime to force kicks from the mark, where their dream run ended with a 5-4 loss in penalties.
U14 GIRLS STATE SEMIFINAL B
5/12Clovis Crossfire
4-1
Walnut Creek Blue
With a dynamic attack for Champions League table-topping Clovis Crossfire firing on all cylinders, it was always going to be tough for Walnut Creek to make the final. The Crossfire scored four times against Walnut Creek, with each of Payton Machado, Mary Louise Ramirez, Nadia Flores, and Cadence Whitley grabbing goals to keep the dream of a State Cup and league double alive.
