NorCal & Soccer Parenting Announce Partnership Renewal

NORCAL PREMIER SOCCER AND SOCCER PARENTING ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP RENEWAL TO CONTINUE EFFORTS TO IMPROVE SIDELINE BEHAVIOR AND PROVIDE EDUCATION AND GUIDANCE TO YOUTH SOCCER CLUBS, COACHES AND PARENTS

July 25, 2024 (SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA) – NorCal Premier Soccer and Soccer Parenting today announce renewal of our partnership agreement to make youth soccer better in Northern California by providing parents, coaches and clubs with resources aimed at improving sideline behavior and giving clubs the tools to address parent engagement and education.

Additionally, NorCal will promote The Sideline Project, encouraging their community of parents, coaches, referees, spectators, and caregivers to join the movement and take The Sideline Project Pledge—with the goal of creating more enjoyable game day experiences to keep more children active in the sport.

The Soccer Parenting mission is to work collaboratively amongst all stakeholders to make youth soccer better. With emphasis on community and curriculum, through partnerships across the country with like-minded organizations and leaders, Soccer Parenting carries out that mission by addressing sideline behavior and engaging, supporting, and educating youth soccer parents and coaches.

“Providing an environment where all our players feel inspired, develop important life skills, and establish healthy, life-long habits is a top priority for NorCal. We believe this can be accomplished when all community members who are a part of that soccer experience—from families, referees, coaches, clubs, to us as an organization—all learn, work, and grow together to make the youth soccer experience a positive one. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Soccer Parenting, giving our community tools and resources to make youth soccer better together,” said Benjamin Ziemer, president and founder of NorCal.

“The investment the NorCal Premier Soccer is making towards positively affecting the lives of soccer players, families and dedicated coaches in Northern California is commendable and critical.  We are proud to continue our work with NorCal and are encouraged by their tremendous leadership and ongoing commitment to improving the youth soccer landscape,” said Skye Eddy, Founder and CEO of the Soccer Parenting.

Throughout the coming months, parents and coaches will see updated resources available directly through the NorCal website, information in the newsletters and other educational opportunities. The first will be a webinar for all NorCal Premier Coaches and Club leaders: “Parent Engagement as a Key Component of Player Development” on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 12noon PST. Coaches and Club leaders can register for that webinar here or find the link in the Coaching Education section of NorCal’s website.

Let’s make youth sports better, together—take The Sideline Project Pledge now.
