NorCal Matchday #9

As we near Halloween, league races all across the state are headed to the wire, including several with promotion and relegation implications. This week, NorCal Matchday returns to the State Premier, where teams are fighting to earn points that will eventually help them in their quests towards reaching the National Premier League.

Here are your NorCal Premier Soccer games of the week:

U15 Girls State Premier South
10/18Merced United
7:00 p.m. @ McNamara Park
Stanislaus United
In the U15 Girls State Premier South, two teams have separated themselves from the rest of the table midway through the season: Merced United and Stanislaus United. Both enter their Friday night contest as the only sides with double digit points--Merced have 12 from five games, while Stanislaus have 11. Plenty of goals are expected in this matchup as each squad averages more at least three per game in league play.
U17 Boys State Premier West
10/19Dnamo FC
10:50 a.m. @ Polo Fields #1
Belmont United
In a wild division in which five teams are all within four points of each other at the top of the table, third-place Dnamo FC host first-place Belmont United this weekend in a matchup with clear title implications. While Belmont have three more points than Dnamo, Dnamo have played one fewer game. Both will need a victory to help stave off second-place Stanford Strickers, who are level on points with Dnamo, but have two games in hand on Belmont and one on Dnamo.
U13 Boys State Premier East
10/19Roseville Soccer Club
1:10 p.m. @ Maidu Soccer Complex Field #4
Northern Nevada SC
In the U13 Boys State Premier East, we have a matchup between first and second place as Roseville Soccer Club host Northern Nevada SC in a match that could play a huge part in deciding the division title. The visitors come into the match higher up in the standings--Northern Nevada's 14 points currently have them at the top of the table--but Roseville are just three points behind with two games in hand. Should either side win, they'll be in pole position to claim the championship.
U11 Girls Premier Region 6
10/20Placer United
4:00 p.m. @ Glen Willow Park
San Juan SC
Both Placer United and San Juan SC have dropped points just once so far this year and each head into this weekend's matchup level on points at the top of the table. However, San Juan currently have an edge in the head-to-head tiebreaker thanks to a 3-0 victory over Placer last month. Sunday's rematch could end up playing a huge part in deciding the title, although Blues FC are just six points behind with three games in hand as well.
