NorCal College Showcase to Feature All-Star Games
For the first time ever, NorCal Premier Soccer’s College Showcase will feature All-Star games, allowing for a selection of the best players from Northern California to showcase their talents in front of more than 100 college coaches.
Four games are scheduled over the two weekends that comprise the showcase, with one match for juniors and one for seniors for each of the boys and girls contests.
“We’re very excited to give our players another opportunity to showcase themselves against the top talent in the state,” said NPL Commissioner Kelcey Chaidez. “To offer another level of competition to our member clubs and continue to grow the potential exposure for our member players and member teams will help us push the envelope in the competitive platform of Northern California.”
Each All-Star game will take place during a marquee time slot in the weekend in which few other matches will be on the docket.
The rosters will be made up of roughly 22 players for each side and will be split up between Bay Area and Valley regions.
Player selections will be based on recommendations from Directors of Coaching and coaches around the state, with the process beginning towards the end of October. NorCal will make the final rosters public more than a week before each event kicks off.
The All-Star teams will be led onto the field by PDP staff and uniforms will be provided for each player.
