NPL Match Day #7

With games in many areas resuming after fires devastated much of the North Bay — you can help displaced families by donating to our fundraiser here — teams were able to play before gearing up for a tournament weekend this weekend. Matchday #7 again featured a plethora of exciting action as teams compete to determine where they’ll play in the spring.

U16 BOYS NPL 1 SOUTH

Lamorinda SC Navy 0 – Santa Clara Sporting Green 0

In a match between the top two teams in the U16 Boys NPL 1 South, neither side was able to break through as Lamorinda and Santa Clara played to a scoreless draw. The lack of goals was somewhat surprising for Lamorinda, who have peppered their opponents for 18 goals on the season, while Santa Clara improved on their strong defensive record which now stands at less than a goal per game.

U16 GIRLS NPL 1 EAST

FC Elk Grove Platinum 1 – Folsom Lake Earthquakes Premier 0

Elk Grove Scorer: Ceja

Folsom Lake Premier entered their marquee match against defending Champions League champions FC Elk Grove with a chance to move to within one point of the highly-touted side. But a moment of brilliance from Kassandra Ceja in the 33rd minute ensured that Folsom’s upset bid wouldn’t be successful as FC Elk Grove improved to 5-0-0 on the season.
