Professional Game of the Week: Sacramento Republic FC vs. Portland Timbers 2

When: Saturday April 22, 7:30 p.m.

Where: Papa Murphy’s Park, Sacramento

Competition: USL

Additional Info: With both the San Jose Earthquakes and San Francisco Deltas out of town, NorCal professional action takes a turn towards California’s capital this week as Sacramento Republic FC (3-2-0) welcome last-place Portland Timbers 2 (0-5-0) for the Republic’s second home game of the season. After starting the season with three straight wins, Sacramento dropped two straight on the road and will look to get back on the winning side of things against a team that has lost all five of their games by a 1-0 scoreline. Amateur Game of the Week: Napa Valley 1839 FC vs. Sonoma County Sol

When: Saturday April 22, 7:00 p.m.

Where: Memorial Stadium, Napa

Competition: NPSL

Additional Info: One week after dropping a match for the first time all year, the Sonoma County Sol (2-1-0) travel north to play Napa Valley 1839 FC (0-2-0) in the first-ever competitive version of the Wine Country Derby. For both squads, the match is imperative as the Sol sit six points behind (with a game in hand) of first-place Golden Gate Conference squad CD Aguiluchos USA, while 2017 expansion side Napa are looking for their first-ever points to get back in the playoff race. Tickets are available at the gate.

East Bay FC Stompers vs. CD Aguiluchos FC, CSU East BAy Pioneer Stadium, Hayward, 2:00 p.m. (NPSL) Tickets available at the gate.
