The U9/U10 NorCal State Cup Concludes This Weekend
In a competition that began several months ago, the U9 and U10 NorCal Premier Soccer State Cup comes to an end this weekend as teams play their semifinals and finals at two different locations around the state.
In order to make it to this stage of the event, teams have played through seven different games against similarly skilled opponents, before winning a quarterfinal matchup after each team was reseeded twice.
It’s one and done from here on out as 100 different divisions are up for grabs in what’s the largest State Cup in the country.
“We’re looking forward to a fun and festive weekend of play,” said U9-U13 State Cup Coordinator John Stoppelmann. “Finals weekend is truly a joy for all teams involved, especially because everyone has been matched up with teams at the same level to ensure that everyone has good competition.”
Davis Legacy Soccer Complex and Granite Regional Park in Sacramento will play host to the hundreds of teams still alive, with the State Division games, NorCal’s top division, taking place in Davis.

U11/U12 State Cup Continues
Additionally, NorCal will also host U11 and U12 State Cup knockout rounds this weekend for teams in the Gold, Silver, and Bronze divisions.
Those teams are currently in the round of 16 and will play quarterfinal matches this weekend as well with a victory in the first knockout round game.
Teams that win in the quarterfinals will earn a spot at Finals Weekend, set to take place December 7 and 8.
This weekend’s matches for the U11 and U12 State Cup take place at Mistlin Sports Complex in Ripon and Turlock Sports Complex.
