Quakes, Republic to Honor U9-U13 #NorCalStateCup Champions
As the U9-U13 NorCal Premier Soccer State Cup comes to a close later this month, two of Northern California’s professional men’s clubs will recognize the winning teams on the field before games later this spring.
On May 4, the San Jose Earthquakes will hold a ceremony for the teams prior to their game against LAFC, while Sacramento Republic FC will welcome all champions to matches on March 9 and March 30.
Tickets to the Earthquakes games are free of charge for all players who played on winning teams, while the Republic is offering a discounted rate for those who lifted the trophy in their respective State Cup divisions.
“We’ve been partnering with the San Jose Earthquakes and Sacramento Republic FC for multiple years now to ensure that our State Cup champions have the amazing experience of stepping on the field in front of a packed stadium at a professional game,” said NorCal U9-U13 State Cup Coordinator John Stoppelmann. “It’s a fun opportunity for the kids to be recognized for their hard work and take in a match.”
Overall, 194 champions have already been or will be awarded in the younger State Cup, with just the finals of the U11-U13 State and Premier Divisions to be decided.
Last year, more than 60 teams took part in the festivities with the Earthquakes, while roughly 15 teams took the field ahead of a Republic game.
