While many teams have already concluded their 2025/26 seasons, there are still a handful of games left as the U15-U19 State Cup finals take place this Saturday and Sunday at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento. Overall, 41 divisions are still up for grabs and NorCal Matchday has all the action in the State Division previewed for you.
Here are your games of the week:
| U15 Boys State Cup Final |
| 5/30 | Reno APEX | | 11:50 a.m. @ Cosumnes River College #5 | | Bay Area Surf |
| In their quest to become the latest team from Nevada to claim a State Division title, Reno APEX came out strong in the early knockout stages, defeating their first two opponents by a combined six goals. Their semifinal matchup, however, was much closer but Reno were able to punch their ticket to the final thanks to a 3-2 penalty shootout victory after they played SF United FC to a 1-1 draw. Bay Area Surf had a similar path to the final, beating OV Toros and Monterey Surf by a combined five goals before they faced a stiff test in FC Fresno in the semifinals. After tying 3-3 in regular time, Bay Area knocked off Fresno on penalties via a 5-4 scoreline. |
| U15 Girls State Cup Final |
| 5/30 | SF Aftershocks | | 11:50 a.m. @ Cosumnes River College #4 | | South Valley Chivas |
| The knockout stages in the U15 Girls State Cup have been extremely competitive--SF Aftershocks and South Valley Chivas played a combined six games, just one of which was decided by more than a single goal. That result came early for SF, who knocked off East Bay United 4-1 in the round of 16 before securing a couple of one-goal victories to reach the final. Meanwhile, South Valley started their first two knockout rounds with one-goal victories before requiring penalties against Roseville YSC in the semifinals in order to make it to Finals Weekend. |
| U16 Girls State Cup Final |
| 5/31 | Elk Grove Soccer | | 10:15 a.m. @ Cosumnes River College #4 | | Revolution FC/Mustang SC |
| After cruising through the round of 16 and quarterfinals with two victories by a combined score of seven goals, Elk Grove Soccer faced a stiff test in the semifinals earlier this month. There, they met California Magic, who hit the back of the net three times en route to a 3-3 draw that could only be separated by penalty kicks. Elk Grove were able to stave off their opposition, though, winning via a 4-3 scoreline. Their opponent in the final is not yet known as Revolution FC and Mustang SC will play their semifinal Saturday, with the winner earning the right to take on Elk Grove. |
| U16 Boys State Cup Final |
| 5/31 | Clovis Crossfire | | 10:15 a.m. @ Cosumnes River College #5 | | Bay Area Surf |
| Clovis Crossfire have absolutely cruised through knockout stages of State Cup--the Central Californian side have yet to allow a goal in the elimination rounds while putting seven strikes in the back of the net. Meanwhile, Bay Area Surf have proved themselves across a much different path--their four knockout stage games have been decided by a total of four goals, with two one-goal victories and a win via penalties all in the first three rounds. In the semifinals, Surf knocked off Silicon Valley Eagles 3-1 in their most comfortable result to date. |
| U17 Boys State Cup Final |
| 5/31 | Richmond Sol | | 12:15 p.m. @ Cosumnes River College #5 | | Elk Grove United |
| In three rounds of knockout stage play, Richmond Sol have only allowed two goals, while comfortably winning two of their three matches. The only time they've really been tested so far was in the quarterfinals, where they were able to defeat Sanger FC via a 2-1 scoreline. Their opponents will be Elk Grove United, who haven't allowed a single goal so far while scoring six to boot. Expect a defensively tight matchup in this final. |
| U17 Girls State Cup Final |
| 5/31 | Union Sacramento | | 12:15 p.m. @ Cosumnes River College #4 | | San Juan South |
| It took until the semifinals of the knockout stages before Union Sacramento conceded for the first time in the elimination rounds, and still they were able to fend off a challenge from Pleasanton RAGE via a 4-2 scoreline. For Union, it has been a bit of a breeze so far, with the club posting victories of at least two-goal margins in every game thus far. For San Juan South, it's been much of the same, though they've won each of their knockout round games by at least three goals, including a 4-1 victory over Albion SC Central Valley in the semifinals. |
| U19 Girls State Cup Final |
| 5/31 | IR Academy | | 2:25 p.m. @ Cosumnes River College #4 | | Monterey Surf |
| In three knockout round games, IR Academy have allowed just one goal, though that goal came in the middle of a 3-1 quarterfinal victory over Marin FC. Their other two games have been much closer--in the round of 16 they defeated Valley Surf 1-0, while in the semifinals, their match against Truckee River United came down to penalties after neither side could find the back of the net. Meanwhile, Monterey Surf started their knockout round campaign in style, posting a 6-0 win over ECFC Salinas before securing a trio of consecutive one-goal victories to reach the final. |
| U19 Boys State Cup Final |
| 5/31 | Reno APEX | | 2:25 p.m. @ Cosumnes River College #5 | | Walnut Creek Surf |
| Expect goals in the U19 Boys State Cup Final--neither Reno APEX nor Walnut Creek Surf have been involved in a knockout stage game that had fewer than three goals in it so far. That "low" of three goals in a game happened just once: Reno's 3-0 victory over De Anza Force in the round of 16. Following that, there was a 5-2 victory in the quarterfinals, followed by a penalty kick shootout win in the semifinals after a 2-2 draw. Walnut Creek's lowest scoring game was their 3-2 round of 16 win. The next game they won 5-3 before beating Los Gatos United 4-2 in a six goal thriller of a semifinal. |
