U19 Boys NPL Spring Showcase: Preview
U19 BOYS CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
A dominant De Anza Force side (4-1-0) need just four points over the weekend to capture the U19 NPL title. Just three points behind De Anza, though, are CV San Jose Gunners (2-0-3), who defeated Force 2-1 Tuesday, meaning that if the Gunners win both of their matches, while De Anza loses at least one, the Gunners will overtake the Force for the title. Also eligible for the title are third-place Marin FC, who will need to win both of their games, have CV fail to take the full six points, and hope that De Anza finish the weekend with two or fewer. Placer United (2-1-2) are also still in the hunt, but will need even more results to finish in their favor to get back into the race.

U19 BOYS NPL 1
Unbeaten California Odyssey (4-0-1) head into the weekend as the clear favorites to claim the U19 NPL 1 title, as they currently enjoy a four-point cushion over second-place Atletico Santa Rosa (3-1-0). What makes matters more difficult for any challengers to Odyssey’s title is the fact that third-place Santa Clara Sporting 99 (1-0-3) play three games over the weekend, including a Saturday double header. Meanwhile, Atletico still have a rescheduled match against seventh-place Davis Legacy 98 (1-2-0) to play sometime in May.

U19 BOYS NPL 2
In a 10-team division, with some teams having played as many games as six, and some as few as three, really anything can happen in the U19 NPL 2 division — a division that likely won’t be decided over the weekend. 5-1-0 Clovis Crossfire lead the division by five points, but have played more games than challengers SF Elite Academy (3-1-1), CV San Jose Earthquakes (3-1-0), and Ballistic United (3-2-0). Though there are 10 matches in this division slated for the College Showcase, games don’t wrap up until the third weekend of May.

U19 BOYS NPL 3
Fewer than half of the U19 NPL 3 matches have been played so far this year, meaning that there’s still plenty of exciting action to unfold. Diablo FC currently top the division with a 2-1-1 record, but second-place MVLA (2-0-1) currently have a game in hand. From there, the standings are muddled, with third-place Force (1-0-2) having just three more points than ninth-place Atletico Santa Rosa (0-3-2).
