NPL Weekly: September 7-8 Recap
NPL MATCHDAY
U16 Girls Champions League
West Coast Soccer 2 – Santa Rosa United 1
West Coast Goals: Gualco, Shelton
Santa Rosa Goal: Graham
With West Coast Soccer and Santa Rosa United having played a combined one game heading into this match, it was unclear which side would be more poised to take control and garner all three points. But that side proved to be West Coast, who scored just 16 minutes into the game through Bailey Gualco before Anaya Shelton doubled her squad’s lead in the 40th. However, Santa Rosa United fought back as Maddie Graham made it 2-1 in the 57th minute but United were ultimately unable to find a late equalizer.

Folsom Lake Earthquakes 0 – CCSA NPL 4
CCSA Goals: Phillips, Rendon, Rodriguez, Hernandez
What originally looked to be a low-scoring game between Folsom Lake Premier and visiting two-time defending State Cup champions Central California Soccer Alliance exploded into a goalfest in the second half. And unfortunately for Folsom, all the goals came at their expense as CCSA scored through Taylor Phillips, Tiger Rendon, Kellyann Rodriguez, and Andria Hernandez in order to pick up all three points.
U15 Boys NPL 1 West
MVLA 0 – Mustang SC 1
Mustang Goal: Gomez
In our youngest age group, Bay Area powerhouses in MVLA and Mustang SC played to a tough contest that could have gone either way. With the game at a deadlock in the 62nd minute, Mustang’s Misael Cisneros Gomez hit the back of the net to give his side a valuable three points after his side’s keeper Owen Sherry was able to stop a penalty to preserve victory.
U19 Boys NPL 1 East
San Juan SC 1 – Mavericks Black 1
San Juan Goal: Moll
Mavericks Goal: Ross
Playing in their first game of the season, San Juan SC looked to get off to a positive start in their campaign against visiting Mavericks Black and did so early, with Preston Moll scoring off of a feed from Parker Faeth. But with 13 minutes remaining in the match Will Ross struck to level the game and ensure that Mavericks continued their NPL unbeaten streak.
