NPL Matchday
U14 Boys NPL 1 West
Barcelona Bay Area 3 – Elite Soccer Orange 1
Goalscorers: Barcelona: Trung Le, Menjivar, own goal
Elite: Gomez
In a fluid, attacking game in which both teams had a plethora of chances, Barcelona Bay Area proved to be the better side on the night, defeating Elite Soccer Orange via 3-1 scoreline. Despite dominating much of the early play, the hosts didn’t find an opener until the 38th minute, when Tin Trung Le struck from distance on a shot that took a nasty bounce off of the slick turf surface. Barcelona then doubled their lead in the 56th minute after good interplay on the right side of the field found Leonardo Menjivar near the top of the box. And while Elite’s Jose Gomez scored with a volley to cut the scoreline to 2-1, an own goal for Elite two minutes from time sealed the result.
