NPL To Kick Off This Weekend
After a summer that saw unprecedented success for NorCal squads at US Club Soccer’s national events, the NPL returns this weekend with a handful of matches before the season really kicks off the following week with a full slate of games.
“The NorCal NPL continues to succeed in its goal to provide a top flight division for Northern California youth players,” said NorCal Director of Competitions Jason Drury. “By providing the highest level of statewide competition and local NorCal College Showcases, NorCal strives to provide the best possible competition for youth players and their clubs.”
All the fall action will finish up at the 2019 NPL Fall College Showcase due to be held November 23 and 24 with the boys at the Davis Legacy Soccer Complex and the girls playing at Mary Grogan Park in Modesto.
The 2020 NPL Spring College Showcase is scheduled May 16 and 17, also at Legacy.
Every match is important as only the top handful of teams will qualify for the Spring’s Champions League on the boys side, with the top two winners on the heading to the NPL National Finals. Meanwhile, the girls will play in a year-round format with the top squad in each age group participating in the NPL Finals.
