NPL Matchday #7
With the NorCal College Showcase set for May 20 and 21, NorCal Premier Soccer’s National Premier League is headed into its final stretch. This weekend, several teams may clinch league titles as several championships are going down to the wire when NPL Matchday #7 kicks off.
Here are your NPL games of the week:
U16 Boys Champions League
1974 Newark FC – San Francisco Elite Academy
Saturday, 5/13 6:00 p.m. @ Newark Sportsfield Park – SFT #1
1974 Newark FC and San Francisco Elite Academy may currently be in the middle of the U16 Boys Champions League table, but they’ve both played in the fewest amount of games in the division and could mount a title challenge with a couple of good results. The hosts this weekend currently sit seven points behind first-place East Bay United, while the visitors are just six points back.
U17 Boys Champions League
Juventus Academy Silicon Valley – San Ramon FC
Sunday, 5/14 9:00 a.m. @ Red Morton Park – McGarvey
Sitting at the bottom of the table, Juventus Academy Silicon Valley and San Ramon FC are fighting for their spot in the top division in this relegation battle six-pointer. Juventus come into the game winless, and will look to pick up their first points of the season, while San Ramon have six points and could get closer to securing safety with a victory this weekend.
U15 Girls ECNL-RL
Burlingame SC – Napa United
Sunday, 5/14 10:25 a.m. @ Mills High School – Stadium
Both Burlingame SC and Napa United head into the weekend needing points in order to keep their place in the ECNL-RL for next season. Burlingame have six points from five games and could move close to the top three with a win, while Napa United have just two points from five games. A victory for Napa United, however, could see them jump two other sides in the league.
U17 Girls ECNL-RL
Santa Clara Sporting – Blackhawks SC
Sunday, 5/14 3:00 p.m. @ Santa Clara Youth Soccer Park – Field #2
Just two points separate first from fifth in the U17 Girls ECNL-RL, meaning that almost every single game this weekend will impact the title race. One of those matches is the fixture between Santa Clara Sporting and Blackhawks SC. The former currently top the league with 12 points from five games, while the latter have picked up 10 points from the same amount of matches.
