NPL Matchday #5
As September comes to a close, there are fewer than two months left until the NorCal Premier Soccer College Showcases in November. And with the showcases comes the conclusion of the NPL season, meaning that there are just a few more matchdays left to earn points towards a potential league title or spring Champions League qualification.
Here are your NPL games of the week:
U16 Boys NPL West
FC Bay Area Surf 2 – Sunnyvale Alliance 2
In a match between two sides who hadn’t yet dropped points, FC Bay Area Surf and Sunnyvale Alliance played to a 2-2 draw Saturday. With the result, Bay Area currently have four points from two games, while Sunnyvale have 10 from four. The result didn’t particularly help either side, but it didn’t really hurt them either as they’ll both hope to be among the contenders for the U16 Boys NPL West title.
U14 Boys NPL North
San Francisco Elite Academy 4 – SF United FC 1
In a San Francisco derby between two teams trying to catch first-place AC Marin, San Francisco Elite Academy scored early and often to down SF United FC 4-1 this past weekend. Elite hit the back of the net just three minutes into the match before scoring right off the bat in the second half. Though United pulled one back in the 47th minute, the hosts scored twice more to give them six points from three games.
