NPL Matchday #4
With three matchdays in the book, title races are starting to take shape in NorCal Premier Soccer’s high-level National Premier League. This weekend, matchday #4 kicks off with each team in search of all three points in their respective games.

U19 Girls NPL West
Los Gatos United 1 – De Anza Force 0

Los Gatos: Varnauskas
In a Bay Area rivalry match, neither Los Gatos United or De Anza Force could find an opening goal and the match looked to be headed to a scoreless draw until late when Sophia Varnauskas made the difference for the hosts. Varnauskas scored on a breakaway with roughly 10 minutes left to give Los Gatos United all three points in what was their first U19 Girls NPL West match of the season.
U17 Boys NPL West
1974 Newark FC 4 – Juventus Academy Silicon Valley 2

1974 Newark FC continued their incredible start to the U17 Boys NPL West campaign by defeating Juventus Academy Silicon Valley 4-2 to earn three points for the third consecutive league game. Thanks to a first half brace from Noel Cabrales and another goal from Nate Medrano, 1974 went into halftime up 3-0. While Juventus pulled a goal back in the second half, Julio Martinez Galvan scored the fourth for Newark to ensure that they would sit on top of the table for at least one more week.
U15 Girls NPL West
Santa Clara Sporting 2 – Monterey Surf Soccer Club 0

With Levi’s Stadium serving as the backdrop, Santa Clara Sporting downed Monterey Surf Soccer Club 2-0 this past weekend in a crucial U15 Girls NPL West matchup. While neither side were able to break the deadlock in the first half a goal in the 56th minute from Eva Cheng would finish as the winner, while Hadley Fay sealed the result with her 73rd minute strike. With the victory, Sporting moved to second in the table with six points from three games, but have a game in hand on first place Almaden FC.
U15 Boys NPL North
Diablo Valley Wolves 0 – San Francisco Elite Academy 1
Sunday, 9/18 11:00 a.m. @ Alhambra High School Stadium
Just a solitary goal separated Bay Area rivals in the Diablo Valley Wolves and San Francisco Elite Academy this past weekend. Elite scored the goal, improving their record to 3-0-0 on the season — the San Francisco club currently occupy the first place spot in the U15 Boys NPL North.
