After a long summer, NorCal Premier Soccer’s National Premier League returns this weekend with a truncated series of games before most teams open up their schedules the following weekend. And with the NPL back in action, NorCal’s NPL Weekly resumes to highlight several matches of the week each matchday throughout the season.

Here are your NPL games of the week:

U19 Boys NPL South

Clovis Crossfire vs. California Odyssey

Saturday, August 20 12:00 p.m. @ Clovis East High School – East 7

After winning the NPL Champions League last spring while also capturing the State Cup title, California Odyssey open up their U19 Boys NPL South slate this season facing a familiar rival. Odyssey will travel just a few miles across the Central Valley to face local foes Clovis Crossfire, who are always expected to give California a tough game.

U16 Girls NPL West

Los Gatos United – FC Bay Area Surf

Saturday, August 20 1:45 p.m. @ Creekside Turf Sports Park

FC Bay Area Surf may have missed out on a ECNL Regional League and State Cup double by falling on penalties in the State Cup final to Placer United, but their ECNL Regional League form last year was impeccable. Throughout the entire campaign, Surf dropped points just once en route to a four point margin of victory. This fall, they’ll open up their NPL West slate against local rivals Los Gatos United, who host the defending league champions.
