Thanks to a 2-0 win over Club Ohio on the fifth day of the NPL Finals in Colorado, the U14 girls San Juan South team were crowned national champions as the competition continued for several of the NorCal clubs involved.

In addition to San Juan South’s victory, six boys sides played their quarterfinal matches on Monday, of which four advanced to Tuesday’s semifinals.

Those living to fight another day were U14 1974 Newark FC, U15 Association Football Club, U16 Los Gatos United, and U17 Association Football Club.

Meanwhile, U15 Diablo Valley Wolves and U19 San Francisco Seals both bowed out of the tournament after one-goal losses.
