With the return of the NPL for the first time in more than a year comes the return of NorCal Premier Soccer’s NPL games of the week. Each week, we’ll highlight a handful of games that are meaningful from a competitive standpoint.

U15 Boys NPL 1 East

8/21 – Clovis Crossfire 1 – California Odyssey 0

The U15 Boys NPL 1 East kicked off this past weekend with an absolute cracker of a derby as Clovis Crossfire hosted California Odyssey with Central California bragging rights at stake. The match stayed scoreless up until the late stages before the hosts finally broke through 15 minutes from time. Brayden Garcia proved the hero for Clovis, taking a feed from Victor Hernandez to help his club leave the field with all three points.

U19 Girls NPL 1 East

8/22 – West Coast Wicked 0 – Placer United 0

After a first half in which neither side really threatened, the game opened up between West Coast Wicked and Placer United during the second half of their U19 Girls NPL 1 East opener. Though both sides featured multiple quality looks after the break, in the end neither could hit the back of the net. In this evenly-matched game, both teams were forced to settle for a point apiece in a scoreless draw.
