With the NorCal Premier NPL College Showcase on May 19th and 20th at the Davis Legacy Soccer Complex approaching fast, there’s little time for teams to climb up the latter into contention before this marquee event. With several top of the table clashes occurring throughout the state, teams will know a little bit better where they stand heading into the final few matchdays of the season.

U14 BOYS CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Red Star 4, Davis Legacy Red 0

Scorers: Escorza 2, Baptista, Lorenzo

Coming into the match five points ahead of any other side, the two sides knew that this game between Red Star and Davis Legacy would likely decide the division winner. But there was only one team on the field over the weekend, with Red Star scoring early and often in a 4-0 victory that put them three points ahead of the Legacy and an astonishing eight in front of anyone else in the division. Jehovany Escorza was the star on the day, scoring two goals to go along with strikes from Diogo Baptista and Jesus Carillo Lorenzo.

U17 GIRLS CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Marin FC Blue 3, Diablo FC 0

Scorers: Bouton 2, Pero

Playing a double matchday weekend, Marin FC made no mistake in both of their games to improve to 4-0-0 on the season and have a three-point advantage through four matches played for most teams in the division. After winning Saturday, though, Marin faced a tough Diablo FC side that was challenging to be near the top of the table. Marin dispatched their opponents via a 3-0 scoreline, with Grace Bouton scoring a pair of goals and setting up Maddie Pero’s 52nd minute strike.
