Thirty-Five NorCal Sides Head to ECNL-RL Playoffs

Starting today at Silverlakes Sports Complex in Norco, 35 different sides from NorCal Premier Soccer kick off their postseason journey at the ECNL-RL Playoffs.

The assortment of teams advanced to this stage thanks to finishing at or near the top of the table in their respective ECNL-RL divisions, which serve as the top of NorCal’s league pyramid.

In Norco they’ll face a variety of different teams from all across the West Coast, with the top two teams in the U13-U17 age groups qualifying for the ECNL-RL Finals later in the summer.

“This is an exciting opportunity for everyone involved,” said NorCal NPL Commissioner Kelcey Chaidez. “Each of these teams has worked incredibly hard to make it to this stage and showcase themselves against the best the West Coast has to offer.”

Of the clubs heading down south, Stanislaus United have the most teams in the field, with three, while Almaden FC, Clovis Crossfire, De Anza Force, Los Gatos United, Folsom Lake Surf, MVLA, Revolution FC, and Walnut Creek Surf are all sending two teams to the competition.

Also representing NorCal are 1974 Newark FC, California Odyssey, Eastshore Alliance, IR Academy, North Coast FC, Palo Alto SC, San Juan, San Juan South, SF Aftershocks, SF United FC, SF Vikings, South Valley Chivas, Stanford Strikers, Turlock Academica Jrs, and WSC Crush.

For the U13-U17 teams, each will play in three group stage games before their brackets cut to the semifinals. Each semifinal winner will move onto the Finals.

Meanwhile, the U19 age group will have three first round games, then cut straight to a championship, where the West Regional winner will be decided.
