Monterey County Soccer League to Host Adult Tournament
The Monterey County Soccer League, in conjunction with NorCal Premier Soccer, are set to host the first-ever adult soccer tournament in conjunction with a youth tournament June 17 and 18 in Salinas, MCSL announced this weekend.
Titled the “Copa Monterey,” the tournament is expected to be the first in a long line of competitions designed to improve the level and total amount of adult competition in the area, as stated in NorCal’s recent rebrand of their adult leagues under new Director of Adult Soccer Cris Gilmore.
“The Monterey County Soccer League is a shining example of what we’re looking for here at NorCal and what should be supported,” Gilmore said. “We strongly suggest that other clubs do the same thing when running their youth tournaments.”
The Copa Monterey is open to all youth and adult teams wishing to participate. More information can be found about the event here.
