Coach Education Series with Paul Bower

“Optimizing Player Performance & Managing Workload in the College and Youth Game”
Presented by Paul Bower, Huddersfield Town Head of Physical Performance

About the clinician:
Paul is the current Head of Physical Performance at Huddersfield Town AFC, an established Championship club that competed in the Premier League as recently as 2018. His previous role at the club involved leading a reconfiguration of HTAFC’s academy to create a competitive “B-Team”, who have traveled across Europe to play games within a bespoke program.

Prior to working at HTAFC, his career began at Barnsley FC where he worked as an academy sport scientist before heading up the department, leaving in 2016. He was fortunate enough to work with the English FA across men’s and women’s youth age groups for two seasons before moving to HTAFC in 2017.

Alongside Paul’s applied work he also is studying for a Professional Doctorate in Sport at Leeds Beckett University, in which his research is focused on the barriers to effective planning and periodization strategies within the English game.
