U19 Boys NPL Spring Showcase: Preview
Champions League
In a division in which there have been three frontrunners all season, one of Marin FC (16 points), Placer United (15 points), and Santa Clara Sporting 00 (13 points) is assured of going home with the Champions League title and a spot in the ENPL National Finals. But a closer look at the standings shows that Placer have played one more game than each of Marin and Santa Clara meaning that Placer will have to grab a win against Marin Saturday and hope that other results go their way to claim the title. A win over Placer on Saturday would clinch the title on for Marin.

NPL 1
While East Bay United (13 points) currently lead this division, they have played one more game than each of the teams in the five spots directly below them in the table. It’s unlikely that East Bay will finish that low in the standings, but they face stiff competition from Atlas Academy (12 points), Peninsula SC (12 points), Galt FC (11 points), and Force (10 points), while Alpine Strikers (8 points) have an outside chance at the title, but will need help from other results.
NPL 2
With six teams within five points of each other at the top of the standings, anything can happen this weekend at the NPL College Showcase. Walnut Creek currently top the standings with 15 points, but Heritage SC are just a single point back, followed by Mustang SC (13 points), California Odyssey (12 points), Palo Alto SC (11 points), and Monarcas Academy (10 points).
NPL 3
While San Juan SC (13 points) appear to have a stranglehold on this division, don’t count out second-place Impact Soccer (10 points) when the two sides meet Saturday. A San Juan win that day would wrap up the title, but an Impact win or a draw would open a path for third-place Santa Rosa United (nine points), who play three matches over the course of the weekend. Lamorinda SC (eight points) have an outside chance at the title, but will need help from other results and a pair of wins.
